Paint Chips and Bedroom Plans

I've been away for the last four days which has meant no computer while I was visiting my sister and her family.  Now that I am back I can see that I have lots of reading to catch up on - my blog reader is showing all the wonderful things everyone has been up to!!

So even though I took a break from the computer, it didn't take long for me to break out the pen, paper and Benjamin Moore paint chips while I was away to start planning my three year old's bedroom.  His older brother's train themed bedroom is almost finished, the baby's nursery is done and now my little guy wants a "big boy room" for himself (and I am more than happy to oblige).

We will be moving him to a Queen sized bed, which seems SO big but his room has to double as a guest room since we have three children now and four bedrooms total.

His only requirements for the room are that the walls be brown and there be a BIG star on the wall which has me thinking of Pottery Barns' star quilts (but we'll have to see if the budget will accommodate that).

Of course I will also be incorporating my favorite drop cloths as curtains and maybe as a few pillows (is there anything we can't make from a drop cloth??)

I hope to have some pictures up of my trip in the next couple of days ... hope you all are enjoying your week!

  1. Is that your handwriting?! Wow! I wish ! had that kind of penmanship! Can't wait to see what you do. I am ignoring the fact that my 2 1/2 y.o. needs a big boy room. I wonder if he'll get teased if he's still in a crib when he goes to kindergarten?

  2. I love these (new to me) drop cloth sewing ideas. Do you just purchase them at hardware stores? I'm getting excited about trying the pillows! Thanks for the inspiration.
